Schluter Shower Systems
Bathrooms are where we begin and end every day of our lives. Tiled showers are becoming the primary focus of today’s remodeling projects. With this kind of attention, it’s no surprise that bathrooms are becoming more luxurious.
Making it water tight:
No Ordinary Shower!
Bathrooms are one of the primary focuses of today’s building and remodeling projects. As a result, tiled showers, with their aesthetic and hygienic benefits, are more popular than ever.
Consider the benefits:
Tiled showers are luxurious and beautiful. The array of tile colors, designs, and shapes provides endless possibilities and enhances the aesthetics of the entire bathroom. Tiled showers also allow for flexibility when installing the latest features, such as benches, niches, multiple shower heads, rain heads and steam units.
For Your Information:
Contrary to popular belief, tile and grout joints (even sealed grout joints) are not waterproof. In conventional tile shower assemblies, two-stage floor drains are designed to connect to shower pan liners below the mortar bed. This conventional method allows moisture to saturate the mortar bed, and over time increases the risk of leaks, causes efflorescence, and fosters mold and mildew growth. Moisture that penetrates these areas and collects in the wall cavities or floor structure is the primary cause of mold and leaks.
In order to create a tiled shower that will last a lifetime, a waterproofing system is needed beneath the tile covering.
The Schluter-Shower System, a complete, waterproofing system for maintenance-free tiled showers, ensures success by eliminating the risk of failures due to vapor and/or water penetration. Unlike other waterproofing systems, the Schluter-Shower System creates a watertight layer at the top of the assembly rather than below it. Once tiles are installed over the Schluter-Shower System, a hygienic, durable tiled shower is the result.
